Legend of the Ginormas Northshore Turtle

Just got back from a really fun surprise little wave session at 1000 Peaks... was talking with Maka.  We were chatting about our Maliko experiences and both mentioned that unreal huge turtle spotted out there. The biggest darn turtle I've ever seen. Swear it was as big as a Volkswagen... . Was wondering who else may have encountered it. Maka said it came up right next to her and stared with one eye right at her. Said it was the eriest thing.. The stuff of legends.. (or tall turtle tales)

Me. me, me. Not on a SUP, in (or maybe on) my Hobie Adventure Island (sailing Trimaran)--about 2005. I mentioned it in Ponohouse somewhere I think. I went out of Maliko and went east, trying to get to my house. Gave up because the wind wasn't favorable, turned west and headed for Kahana. I think I saw the Turtle pretty much off Hookipa, but about a mile or so out. HUGE. Scared the crap out of me, I had no idea what it was until I was right on top of it. way bigger than a Volkswagen, about the size of a garage door.  Five to ten times bigger than the biggest turtle I've seen before or since.
