Wakesurf session with my SUP

due to the lack of oceanwaves in the middle of Germany we decided to surf  the wave of my friends boat at the river this sunday afternoon. we had a blast...this is a smal video of during our first couple of tries :)

I tried to paddle in a couple of times but i did not make it (yet).

i used a rope to get on the wake...i couldnt stop...it was so much fun...

How big was the boat? what speed was it running?

Very cool!  I was out for a paddle the other day and a buddy was coming buy on his 18 foot bay boat.  I never thought it would work, but was able to paddle into the wake and ride forever.  Just make sure you have a good driver as you have to have the boat very close as it goes by.  Best speed is maximum wake with the bow up high, just before it will go on plane.  I thought I would need to rope in, but paddled hard as the boat was going by and the board just locked into the wake.  You can go a little faster after you catch it...

What type of boat Marc?  Can it be done with an outboard, or are you too close to the boat??

i think u need a water ski /wake board boat to get big enough wake. wish i had one id do it everyday endless wave...
