That is one amazing picture on the home page of Dan Gavere on a white water SUP outing.  Great light, great angle, great shot all the way around!

Hey Jeff,
That Taylor Robertson shot (he's also a budding sup river guy but nothing like Gavere who is 24/7 jacked on honing a VERY difficult learning curve; Dan, by the way was a US Kayak Team member so he knows fast water well... this type of thing is NOT something you just go do; he wears pads EVERYwhere; probably even a nut protector!)...


....anyway, that shot was taken on the Kaweah River in the foothills of the southern Sierra Nevada Range outside Visalia-Porterville, Calif.

Now that you mention it, I can see some of the padding he's got on in the picture, as well as the rocks he could be landing on too...

Riding a wave is a fairly smooth experience, especially compared to this where the water must be pounding UP onto, as well as sucking down, the bottom of the board and making it buck very unpredictably.  Must be some great foot skills he is gathering!

That is a great shot by Taylor.  I take it he is on a bridge and/or with a longish lense. He has to be. I don't know how else he could get a shot like this.

The coolest part of that great shot, to my eye, is the track he's left on the waterfall. He's movin' fast through rough water.
