Who won?
« on: May 17, 2009, 10:39:28 AM »
Who won Maliko to Kanaha?  Wind guru showed some light winds.  I hope it picks up for my arrival in June and my new ride.

Peace!

I put some non-spectacular photos here (unless of course you're in a pic):

EDIT: Complete list posted below.

Those who went noted really hot and gruelling conditions with few to no glides.  Very light, onshore breezes.

Even though the conditions may not have been ideal, this was an incredibly well run event and it got a great turnout.  Nice!

Was the race between the top guys pretty tight at the finish, or were there pretty big margins between everybody by that time?

Incredible burst of speed. Riggs Napoleon (10 or 11 years young) on a laydown paddleboard (white) using it as a stand up board for this race. Check the closing speed this kid has. Best moment of the race. Way to go Riggs...........

I saw him on a Naish. Kalama, Lenny, etc. were on some different designs that were big and nice.

I think we'll be hearing a lot about these new Naish racing boards in the near-future...

It looked tighter than it has been in downwind conditions.  Kalama was probably close to two minutes ahead of the rest, but after that it was pretty narrowly spaced.  It was close enough that some people were even passed on the sand.

17-18' Naish.  Low rocker looking model, but not a full on displacement board like Mark and Alan were on.  So cool to watch that guy motor.

Check out Devin’s muscle tone in that shot.  She’s a great athlete.  I’m gonna have to hit the gym.  Those trophies were really nice....waah,waah,waah.
