The Starboard website says the PR is rated at 85kg max rider weight. I am right at that limit outside the holidays and over during the holidays. I wonder if this is a typo as it is 130L in volume. This is out of family in compared to other Starboards boards in this range, ie.  8'5" Pro is 112L and rated up to 90kg, 8'8" widepoint airborne 123L rated up to 95kg, etc.

Does anybody know why the PR is rated only up to 85kg rider weight or a bad typo error?

Starboard (and many other manufacturers) give you the recommended weight for the skill level they designed the board for. The pocket rocket is more intended for mid-sized intermediate riders. The 8-5 pro and airborne are for larger experienced riders. If you are confident in your abilities, the Pocket Rocket should be fine. If this is your first surf sup, demo first.

Just noticed your sig, If you are surfing your 9'0 pro without trouble the pocket rocket should be fine, might even feel more stable.

Yes, I am comfortable on the 9" Pro in nice conditions. The reason I asked about this is I am looking for a more stable  board for windy/choppy/moving water conditions for waves in the 3-8 ft face range. I'm not too excited about a real wide 32" board and the PR seems to be touted as stable at 30" wide and with a wider nose/tail outline.

If you are looking for a nice stable board in the 30" range, I would suggest considering the Sunova Flow 8'7". I spent a couple of hours last summer swapping my Flow with a friends PR. The stability in rough water was similar, but the Flow was a lot faster on the wave, which in turn meant that the carving potential was also much higher. The Flow was also a touch easier to catch waves on since it seemed to plane up much quicker. Just a thought considering the parameters you are looking at.
On a side note, you mentioned the 8'8" Airborne; the most stable board I have ever been on, and easy to balance on even in horrendous winds and chop. I sold mine just because it was way too wide for my weight (75 kilos).

im 210 (95kg) and add probably 15lbs for winter gear and the I owned a Pocket rocket.  at the time of intermediate ability it was a battleship.  If you are good on the 9'0 pro the PR will be stable in all conditions.

INMO the shape is dated. It was one of the first small sups but stability and surfability have come a long way with other brands. If you are a starboard loyalist it may be a good option but it is very much an 'all terrain tire' kinda good at everythting but great at none.
