January Super Swell
« on: January 20, 2017, 05:06:47 PM »
1/18 & 1/20. This one was almost identical to the one we had in November. Long period swell(for New Jersey @11-12 secs), good direction, sunny with light offshores. I surfed my Assassin both days (comfort zone) and also my Stewart Redline. Caught a ton of perfect waves and had my fair share of beatings. Run came abruptly to an end when a meaty one clamped on me hard and my right shoulder and took two of the four quad fins square. I think I further damaged my already compromised rotator cuff.
SOLOSHOT was working hard both days. All da pics here- https://flic.kr/s/aHskT2x6me

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

You made the right choice to come to san diego last winter and stay home this year.

lol...I saw how Mother Nature was keeping you guys busy last winter w/all the El Nino activity and said "Book it!". But I seriously had no idea how epic the conditions would be. That trip was amazing. I'll always have you to thank for helping out.

haha cook! I love you referenced the Nov Swell.  My board went in for repairs after that macking swell...only to go back in for the one above!

Im starting to determine how awesome a session was by the amount of glass re-applied after the swell leaves!

Cookie:  Another goodie!!!  I enjoyed (I sure you didn't) even watching some pretty whicked looking wipeouts.....for whatever reason I'm currently on a kick to try to better understand what sorts of waves (primarily size) results in different beatings.

Look forward to more!   8) 8) 8)
