What a great day yesterday in St. Thomas. Actually, we took a ferry to Water Island just to the south of mainland St. Thomas and went paddle boarding. There wasn't a whole lot to see because we couldn't go very far because of the Christmas winds (we wanted a relaxing day, not a workout). However, we did see four sea turtles! They swam beside us for quite a while. Absolutely beautiful. I've been diving with them before but never paddle boarding. And the others in my party had never even seen a sea turtle in the wild so it was a great day! Unfortunately our camera was dead so we didn't get pics. We still have a few days to get pics though!!

M.A. One of our local paddlers spotted a large sea turtle swimming off a beach here in Hong Kong last week too. I have yet to see one. There used to be many here, and there are even protected beaches where turtles are known to lay their eggs in several locations around Hong Kong, including on Hong Kong Island itself.
