Plastic Tides: Plastic Free SUP Events
« on: January 13, 2017, 09:05:34 AM »
Hello Paddlers,

My name is Christian Shaw, co-founder of Plastic Tides:

We fight plastic pollution, of or main stratregeies of connection with the watersports community is through Plastic Free eventing. Our goal is to become a model for SUP events worldwide.

Last year in Bermuda we launched a novel round de island charity SUP event called the Devil's Isle Challenge. At 40 miles this is the longest ocean SUP race in the world and can be tackled solo or in relay teams of up to eight paddlers. The event raises awareness of plastic pollution and everyday solutions, while also raising funds for a program we've established called SUP'r Kids Bermuda. This free paddling program gives kids the opportunity to learn SUP and integrates environmental awareness and stewardship with the goal of inspiring the next generation of ocean advocates.

This year we're taking things to the next level!
