California 100--Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Bulky:
I've known about this race for several years and always wanted to give it a try.  Turning 50 in May so I think this is the year.  100miles in one day!  Why pay all that money to race only to let them paddle your board 6miles?  From people I've talked to it's a fun, well-planned event with great scenery as the current takes you down the river (which makes 100mi possible in a day).

I know a couple Zoners have done it so great to get your impressions and tips.  But most importantly:

Not like I was getting any takers, but organizers posted that it's not happening this year.  Bummed.  I was starting to log some serious miles...

Bummer they cancelled it.  I did it last year and it was amazing- very challenging and a beautiful, scenic river.  Hopefully they can pull it off next year, the logistics are challenging for both the racers and the organizers.
