Pic of Kanaha Maui today
« on: December 09, 2016, 04:16:03 PM »
This guy, just left of center and very small from a far away shot, is out by himself in stellar conditions.  Light offshore perfection.  Only one problem....

I wouldn't mind..... Kinda looks like Winter out my window! Gusty NE winds, 28 deg. and dropping fast.   :)

LOL....thinking that not seeing it is the problem.

Could be worse....i went for a paddle at a local spot, Nantasket beach, a few years ago...absolute flat smooth glass.....not ripple.  A longboarder is sitting outside on his board as I paddle by....I come back an hour or so later and he is still sitting in the same spot. Had to be meditating or something... :)

Maybe it's my eyes, but the guy to the left of center......looks like a tiny speck of dirt on my monitor. In fact, I can't even make out it is a sup paddler.

It's been raining here for a week.  Good news is wind is gone, bad news no surf as well.  The dreaded Pineapple is headed for all you guys on the mainland.  Hope you ski or snowboard.

Ski areas are open. Surfline has been flatlined for at least a week now. Doheny 'Flat' - SanO <1'
It's not overhead to me!

Yeah, and it's been raining for two days and they're having flooding alerts for Tahoe....
Oh well, still early in the season, and we'll be back in the Island in January.
Anyplace to rent a JL Sidewinder on Maui?

hmmm. Got about 30 degrees warmer than it had been with a foot or so of cold smoke in the first wave and then about 10 degrees more warm and a foot or so of cement in this last wave. Seems to be more glop every year.

I've been surfing dinky waves at Cardiff the last two days. Actually a lot of fun. Small crowd, pretty friendly bunch, and I got a lot of nice rides. Enough so that I logged about seven hours yesterday. Surfed from 7 to 11, took a coffee break and washed my new truck, then surfed from 1 to 4. Easy money, and just fun being out on the water.

Today we moved into Jen and Casey Trout's house at Canyon Lake. I plan to get a lot of SoCal surf in, but I'll also do a bunch of training in the flatwater to see if I can burn some of this flab off. We got out of Hood River just in time. Oregon is pretty socked in with snow and ice.

Jen and Casey will be staying at Ponohouse. I sure hope the surf improves. Lake Kanaha is just not that much fun, though maybe you guys can start water skiing. I hear Casey is one heck of a water skier.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.
