In the spirit of the thread with a combination of all the footage from the Singularity above, set to music and with a Christmas theme.

Shameless re-post for those who may have missed it the first time ;D

Beasho:  Love the music touch...good choice!  Love the whole vid as well.  I look at those rides in awe.....just fantastic!

Now if only you included some of your footage of chomping on little comb jellies (or whatever critters those where from one of your past vids).   ;D

Singularity and the digital documentation of our lives and accomplishments are amazing products of our ultra modern era. I loved seeing you guys on sups grabbing waves the proners can't get into. And I never get tired of watching surf vids. You're leading the charge on sup at Mavs! SERIOUS stoke!
I remember my first surf foto from when I was twelve (1970). My dad hired a professional photographer to shoot on a small summer morning. It took almost a week to get those prints. And he processed them in reverse so I was goofy footed! (Amazes me when people can surf switch, ESPECIALLY in big surf)
The movie "Enemy Against The State" comes to mind as does a show on Netflix called "Black Mirror" that is set in the not too distant future. An episode titled "The Entire History Of You". Both have underlying themes quite similar to your post.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Cool photo.  Today - No Picture and it didn't happen.

This all makes me a bit envious of our children.  Then again they'll never know a world un-documented.

This also calls into question the value of story telling.  My father is a great raconteur.  However in the age of Google it's always annoying when someone starts to fact check every iota of a story.  I guess the art form will stretch into the realm of the Un-Googleable like deep space, ancient history and the generally untestable . . . . basically religion and politics.

I've more or less stopped shooting video, because I hate editing, and I'm focused enough on me, me, me as it is.

That said, I think a life well lived is more about meaning than anything else, so I'm going to fiddle with documenting more projects and shooting video of other people. the new monster drone will help with that--maybe.

Diane and I are also getting serious about starting another company--mostly for the challenge and the interesting elements of it. The seat next to the fire.

Holy Kai at Mavericks!

This shot just showed up from the ether.  There is another more twisted angle on facebook (semi photoshopped) but this should be the original and is more believable but still outrageous.

That's such an amazing photo! I can't even imagine what's going through his mind when dropping into a wave like that! Thanks for sharing, Beasho!
