New Jersey Super Swell Part 2
« on: December 02, 2016, 09:25:34 PM »
The next day was pumping still! As I was driving to the more popular and consistent spot I was at the day before I decided to turn around and hit my local. Which was, much to my surprise, quite perfect. About halfway into sesh I took a bomb that closed out on end section. The paddle clocked me good in the ear. Thought I was bleeding it hit me so hard. Luckily I was ok and kept surfing. Darn paddle was being difficult as I was tucking it away for the wipe. Those things are dangerous sometimes.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Beautiful waves with some nice sup riding. Can't beat that. And to top it all off, you had the entire surfing place for yourself.

Thanks for sharing your video.

Good video and good demo of the solo-shot capabilities.  I was wondering till the end if you had a really patient wife or surf-amigo.

What is the range on that thing?  Our best waves are usually 400 yards out which might stretch the ability of the camera, zoom, stability or tracker.

The SoloShot3  claims a range of up to 2,000 yards
If you couple that with the 65 power zoom, and the ability to follow you up and down, as well as side to side..... it would be perfect for your location!

One catch....many Zoners have been waiting up to a year so far, since pre-ordering their SoloShot3's.
They were promised in April 2016.... pushed back now o March 2017.... and that is only for the 25 power zoom. Who knows for the 65 power zoom bundle  :-\

What a score that day!  You caught them all sleeping.

Nice edit and very chill music too.

Most of us have never seen ourselves surfing. The manned camera on the beach is
a rare and hard to realize option. This new solo shot deal is a huge step.

Like Beasho I'm way off shore during the juice and the security problem with the camera is a big obstacle.  Even if I saw the moment of the snatch, it'll be long gone before I'm out of the water.

But for you guys that have this rig, your stoke content is some of the best on the Zone, thanks.

Night Wing, SpaceCoast, Creek, Beasho, Subber, and J....thanx for the stoke, fellas! That was quite a memorable session!
I'm way off shore during the juice and the security problem with the camera is a big obstacle.  Even if I saw the moment of the snatch, it'll be long gone before I'm out of the water.
There's a locking feature for the SOLOSHOT if you're worried about it getting lifted.  It accepts a standard laptop style I-lock. And all the times I've used mine I've only locked it twice. And I've been "Solo-shooting since November 2012!

What is the range on that thing?  Our best waves are usually 400 yards out which might stretch the ability of the camera, zoom, stability or tracker.
I think the issue you are going to have is w/the range of the base for tracking. Cameras today have more than enough zoom and the dedicated SS Optic25 will definitely zoom in close enough. That's the cam I ordered. The SS cams are a super sweet mount too. They snap right onto the base. No more fiddling w/the screw mount. 400 yards equates to 1200' which is w/in the bases 2000' range. I say go for it Beash! We wanna see more of your big wave antics!

Cookie-man.....WOW!!!  Super nice!!!  Some great rides for sure!  One day.  You've got yourself some honey holes for sure.  And REALLY like the homemade tunage....really nice git-fiddle playing.  What model Gibby are you playing in the pic?  I was thinking I was hearing a hollow body so really surprised to see the Gibson and all their glorious early breakup in the closing pic.

Always enjoy your work!!!!!!  Especially this time of the year when vids seem to wane a bit.  Look forward to the next.

Cookie:  Les Paul Studio's are VERY nice guitars!!!!  I knew it wasn't an SG based on body shape and that color threw me a bit.  Nonetheless, with dual humbuckers you are definitely getting a very nice cleaned up tone.....volume pot rolled back quite a bit I'm guessing.  Look forward to hearing/seeing more of your stuff!
