Wow, I did not expect for this topic to get so much love.  Thanks all of you for sharing in my stoke as I anxiously wait for the arrival of this board. 

Badger - I will let you know what I think of the handle once the board arrives, which probably wont be for another 4 or 5 weeks. 

surfafrica - I will surely give as much of a review on the board as possible for my beginner surf status.  Will most likely have to get a new/thicker wetsuit so I can surf through most of the winter, so it could be awhile to give a review.

RAT - I'm certainly not going to go as artistic as you with my pad.  I love what you did with it, but I was just planning on getting a second blue pad and adding in some blue stripes.  What kind of fin do use for noseriding on your SS?

I was at PPG and I have to say the Kings were some of the best looking boards in the demo pool.  They are had such thin rails and were really foiled. 

On Saturday I was taking out a buddy, a lifelong surfer trying SUP for the first time, paddling outside the lineup.  We ran into Mickey Munoz who was demoing a Kings Wedge.  I bet he caught a few on it!

Since the SS has a wider nose, waist, etc. versus my prone nose rider, plus I want the ability to do cut back, I went with the 2+1 set up with the center fin being the Futures Performance 6.5.

Soaking wet 145-148 lbs.

Since it is being shipped this upcoming Monday, hopefully it'll arrive near the end of the week and you'll be able to ride it on Saturday or Sunday. BTW, your new sup looks great. I like the orange deck pad.

Any update on the board? Sweet looking board BTW.. This forum has a lot of useful information. So on my short board, what I thought was a go pro installation is a vent plug? HaHa! What a newbie.  How come certain boards have them & others don't?  Is it the cost and what are you supposed to do with them?

Well after some shipping complications, the board finally arrived today.  Unfortunately I was not here to inspect and my wife's inspection was lacking.  After I came home from work I took a closer look and found a pretty severe crack through the tail and a dent in the pad that is probably going into the board also.  I called Kings and they are going to help me with the claim from the shipping company.  Hopefully it all works out......

30%!!!  That is incredibly high and unacceptable.  I am a chef and if I or any my cooks had 30% of their orders getting sent back for poor quality we would be immediately removed from our position.  However hopes are high that a good resolution will come from this and Kings have been extremely helpful so far.  Does not deter me from future dealings with them in the slightest.

Ouch! That is a very high percentage of damage for newly built boards for sale. If I was looking for a new board, I might have to pass on King's.

That 30% was for ALL shipments from many manufacturers. As a matter of fact that particular shop doesn't even carry King's at all.

Ya. It's a long way from China or Thailand. Lots of opportunities for damage. Within the US, I got to imagine it's a much lower percentage. Nothing bad on Kings for sure. Great people. Just an unfortunate shipping issue. I'm sure it will be fixed like new. Just have to wait it out a bit. Sorry about that.

30% of all boards arriving at a retailer with dings sounds pretty normal. Boards aren't really packed sufficiently well to consistently survive the journey. But if they were, they would be more expensive.
