Hexatraction
« on: October 04, 2016, 04:23:11 PM »
That might be spelled wrong. I picked up two packs of the new RSPro traction stuff at NSI before I left for the PPG. Stripped half the deck pad off my trusty Foote and replaced it wtih Hexawhatever, all the way to the nose. I've been surfing with it for more than a week, and the only time I notice it is when I look down.

I can't think of higher praise. Perfect traction. It's been kind of bouncy here in SoCal and I'm staggering all over my board. Some people think I'm doing some kind of freestyle thing, but it's just clumsiness. I haven't slipped once. It doesn't feel rough or abrasive, doesn't feel sticky or give like wax does, doesn't like it catches my feet like some traction pads do. It just disappears, and you don't slip. And my feet don't hurt when I stand on it. How does it do that? No clue.

Oh, and it dropped the weight of the front half of my board so much that the handle is tailheavy. Need to find some superlight fins or ditch the rest of the tractiion pad.

All my boards from now on will use this and nothing else.

I agree.  I have it on both my current boards and will be using it on future boards.

I loved the way it looks right away, but I didn't expect it to be any better than other transparent traction I've tried. It's way different. I always noticed the hardness and abrasiveness. It spent days standing on this stuff and didn't notice the difference in hardness between it and a pad. In a way my 50/50 application was a great test. Would I try to stay on the pad or would the hexastuff feel okay. Answer--I forgot all about it.

going full Hex with a Tail pad on my next shortboard.  Have it on the nose of my Longboard and its fantastic.

Im really close to putting it on my prone board- sick of bagging the board up bc of wax when i stuff it in the SUV.

I know I don't have to mention this to you Stoney (or PB), but the key for me and my use of the multi has been to come across the board as opposed to nose to tail.  This way, the blade stays flat on the surface.

Nope, but I did do some damage getting the glue off. I had to repair a section about 10" by 10".

Nice. Mine looks like a "Works of primitive man" exhibit, but the next one will be cool.
