Instructional videos
« on: October 04, 2016, 09:22:54 AM »
Hello
There is not a lot of wwsup instructional videos on the net. Here are my favorites:
About stance: https://youtu.be/5BrcqOYKIgg
About strokes: https://youtu.be/SdjawBh5nW0
The kunfu stance and the C stroke are very powerful, I use it on wave riding as well.
For other stuff, I look at kayak videos.

When I was doing research for beginners looking to enter into the world of sup, I ran across quite a few videos. I still have 6 videos which I saved as Bookmarks.
Blue Planet Duke: 10'5" x 32" x 4.5" @ 190 Liters (2 Dukes)
Sup Sports Hammer: 8'11" x 31" x 4" @ 140 Liters
SUP Sports One World: 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 Liters
CJ Nelson Parallax: 9'3" x 23 1/2" x 3 3/16" @ 78.8 Liters (prone surfing longboard; Thunderbolt Technologies build in Red construction)

Hi Fredi and everyone,

Check out my new white water SUP instructional videos on Youtube. I run Stand Up Paddle Board UK over in North Wales and we are one of the only centres who run white water SUP commercially in the UK.

More coming up, watch this space. If there is anything anyone needs help working on give us a shout.

Thanks for watching,

Anthony

Hello Antony
It would be great to have advice about how to handle this kind of fall:
https://vimeo.com/184891203#t=152s
It happens to me each time I try to go down a rapid whose waters are turning around at the end. The water is pushing my fins at the back of the board, putting it perpendicular to the stream, and I fall downstream. I just saw 3 video footages of myself and it's always the same scenario.

PS: As I said the same on a youtube comment, I think you should add a warning about leash in white water at beginning of each video. People coming from surfing don't see the danger of wearing a non-quick-releasable leash.

Sounds like you're peeling in to an eddy? If so, when leaving current to enter an eddy (upstream flow or dead water), lean upstream or into your turn. Keep the paddle moving for stability. Don't stall or try to balance, keep paddling.  human instinct forces you to lean into the incoming current thus flipping the board. do the opposite. lean away from the current you're trying to enter (or adjust rail by lifting that side).
