Could this work for SUP surfing?

Love the innovation, and I think the tail would make for a very stable sup.  I'll let some of you shapers chime in.

It may in some situations be ok at best but these finless boards just have too many downfalls overall.
Fins, besides being a source of drive and holding power are also the way we fine tune board's handling characteristics. I'd stick with a finned board.
Boards:

8-10 x 31 Egg
8-11 X 32 Double wing Fangtail Tom Whitaker
8-6 X 30 1\2  Inbetweener Tom Whitaker
8-4 x 30 Hyper quad Tom Whitaker (wife's now)
8-4 X 31 1\4.  Round (wide) Diamond Tail Quad Tom Whitaker
9-4 X 30 1\2. Swallow Stinger Quad Tom Whitaker (ex wifes now)
10-0 Brusurf for teach

No finless boards for me either. A fiasco just waiting to happen. Like piloting a boat and the steering cable breaks.
Blue Planet Duke: 10'5" x 32" x 4.5" @ 190 Liters (2 Dukes)
Sup Sports Hammer: 8'11" x 31" x 4" @ 140 Liters
SUP Sports One World: 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 Liters
CJ Nelson Parallax: 9'3" x 23 1/2" x 3 3/16" @ 78.8 Liters (prone surfing longboard; Thunderbolt Technologies build in Red construction)

I played around with a finless race board, it's hanging on my wall. Works great, goes straight like it was on rails. and when you try to turn, it goes straight, like it was on rails. By the time you get hull dynamics to equal the stability of a fin, you have a very powerful, full-length, full-time stability machine. If you turn a fin a little bit it transitions from stabilizing the board to helping it steer. Not so with finless. It might be fun, but it's not going to be great.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.
