Wednesday 9-21
Gotwavz made the call...
We hit a new spot that he said was firing Tuesday afternoon..

Swell direction at 165, really steep..

Dawn Patrol..
Decided to grab the 6'6"
New Spot was peeling off like a point...
Well overhead..
No One Out...

Some Long Ones..
Crackin hard..
Lost my paddle, had to run in to retrieve..
Blasted pretty far down the beach with the inside currents..

Long paddle back..

Some pretty long rides...

Gotwavz had to split so he drops me at my usual spot..

Horrendous Side Current At the Old Spot..Could hardly keep my footing..
Walked a ways up current and paddle out...
Waited and chose wisely..
Caught one that went way way down the line...
rode it in....
One and done..
Long walk back....

Today not so much...

The feature on Surfline had me wishing I had driven north!  Worth checking out after the obligatory 15 second of ads

The first pulse hit us yesterday around noon.  Good size sets and pretty glassy.  Then the wind last night just blew it out. Seasick big mushy disorganized peaks this morning. Hopefully the wind dies as the swell is supposed to increase over the next few days. I might hit DoHo around sunset.

Very cool!!  I'm on my way down to SOCAL on Saturday. With surf like that I'd pack up tonight but we have an obligation in HR until 3:00 on Saturday. Should roll in sometime Monday.  I expect some damned surf, folks. Make it happen, eh?

That was fun :) Glad I went. The wind dropped and it glassed off. Surfed till sun down. No crowd. Long lulls between waves (not sets) , but some shoulder high long rights with enough energy to hit the lip.
It was the French evasion though. Two or Three vans showed up with piles of race boards on them. They all speaking French on the beach. Let the games begin....... Or at least a week of practicing. They stayed a good 100yrds south of the main break, so that was nice.
