Ocean State Stoke
« on: August 31, 2016, 06:52:33 PM »
Managed a road trip up to Rhode Island for some hurricane swell off Gaston. SCORE! Camped for a few nights and hit Judith for some beautiful long period swell. LIG!  8)

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Yeah Rhody was pretty damn good the past few days. Glad you scored. Nothing like some Iggy's clam cakes and chowdah after a long session.

There was a kayak-er KILLIN it at the point! You? I think he had a white yak. I said to him, "Heck, if there's a kayak out a sup won't hurt"!

Excellent series of pictures. Looks like the swells from Gaston made for some great waves for surfing. I'm envious.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your pictures.

Yep. PDLSFR and I scored on Monday. Never leave waves to get waves - unless it's offshore and bigger!

The collapsed crane and closed bridge to get to Middletown made things interesting to say the least.

But, like the I Ching sez, persistance futhers, and I had a tour guide to get me to the promised land.

Other more Sothern locales were REALLY good.

Then back to Northern Cape Cod, followed by Southern Cape Cod.

If TS 9 crosses FL and does what SOME forecast models suggest, we will all drown! Unless you know how to Kite.

Pono, is the geezer foil ready, or is the Lucas Special Ops vehicle 🚗  the current leader in terms of time??

Its been a long summer here without much waves in little Rhodie and now its like we have waves firing almost daily, anotjer round of big swell on the way for late this weekend into Labor Day, just in time for WhatsSUP making his big move from the southern states to the little state, can't wait for him see how big it can really get in New England !!

Mr Big and Kayadogg both dialing in new boards just in time for the Hurricane swells.

As much as everyone loves summer, I have to admit that seeing that Labor Day holiday means bye bye tourists, hello Storm waves !!

Yup. To heck with Summer. Id rather be in NorCal.

September thru November is where its at here!! Both on the water and off.

Caught some nice shoulder sized swell on Tuesday at 1st beach (with a distant Stoney sighting). Then Nantasket all afternoon thru sunset yesterday (with a Pieces of 8 land sighting)

Been looking for cheap air bNb stays for multi day trips in RI (and NH).

Nothing like having 3 solid days in a row with sweet swell (especially after a flat flat summer). Looks like more swell and some pretty significant on the way this weekend into Labor Day (imagine that...a day off on Monday with Surf...it'll be like getting paid to surf) !!

@addapost

You need to take advantage of every riding opportunity while those waves last. I would love to surf waves like that.
