Another San Diego Question

I saw that someone else is going to San Diego for work next month and is looking for suggestions on places to SUP. I'm also going there for work next month but I won't have any full days free-I will only have time after work (usually get off work around 5). So I have a few questions:

1. What are some good places to flatwater SUP in San Diego that are short paddles so I can SUP after work?
2. Where should I rent a board?
3. Does anyone happen to know of any groups I could join for an evening paddle (other than paid tours)?

I'd suggest that you call either West Coast Paddle Sports at 858 272-3278 or OEX at 619 224-4241 for rental SPs. They can advise you on the best places to go either in Mission Bay, La Jolla, or San Diego bay.
