SUP jet pack ......Kick starter....
« on: August 23, 2016, 09:31:10 PM »
Another action packed Kickstarter. Just snaps into your fin box and is controlled by a wrist watch remote. Talk about being dragged by your leash.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

In the state I live in (Texas), I think attaching a device like this to a sup would make the sup a motorized vessel and if this is so, then it would have to have our TX numbers easily seen. Not to mention those TX numbers involves a fee payable to the state..

Still, nice innovation.

I wonder just how many of those Current Drives they have sold?  Looks like it would be fun to try once!

The Electrafin was featured on the new CNBC show Adventure Capitalists aka Shark Tank for adventurers.

The scubajet seems more practical and compact than the electrafin. But it seems that you lose the functionality of the fin with the scubajet. So the board may feel less stable.

That "Current Drive" attached to the back of the sup is going to act like a small sail since it is going to catch some wind and you'll be fighting to paddle where you want to go because of the wind pushing against the CD. I think you'd spend more time compensating for this device paddling wise because of the drift it is going to cause. I

In other words; I think the CD is fine for windless or winds under 5 mph, but once the wind gets up beyond 5 mph, I think all bets are off (in my opinion) so paddling a relatively straight line might be more difficult than it seems with this device.
