I'm sure some video will show up later, there were a lot of big cameras around and a wad of drones.

Great weekend of racing. As usual, the organization level was just off the charts. These folks do such a great job, it just makes most of the races I attend, even car races, look a bit amateur.

I am formally retiring my 12'2" from racing. I always forget how chopped up the river gets from a few hundred boards going hard. I had the slowest run I've done this year for the downwinder--15 minutes slower than my average time, 20 minutes slower than my best. Yuck. But it was great fun all weekend, and I've got a new 14' 2015 Infinity Blackfish ST to torture myself with. I think it's going to be a good board for me--I can trim it while standing fairly far back and it doesn't do a giant wheelie if I try to buoy turn it. Still need to lose that 30 pounds though.

I hope they capture some video taken from drones. I really like the overhead and zoom out views from a drone.

I like that board. Never seen it for real though.

How wide is it?
You riding it with twin fins?
How turny is it on a downwinder?

Let us know about it as you get used to it.

Good choice :-)

The 14x26 feels like 27" or 28" for me at 165 lbs. Even with only a single fin.

Did you get the one from the event site? This board was very solid!
One of the guys on the Manhattan's 25 miles race, who's about 6.4/255
Did the whole stretch on a 27 version, never went in.

And then there's the 4 fin setup which could help a lot if it's in fact that's what you have.

Interesting to hear how it works for you on a Viento run.
in progress...

far out!

Great shots. Great shots of Bernd Rodiger, especially in the middle of that charging start. Then relaxing.

He's using an adjustable paddle! What's with that? Just used to it?
