KH did it in 6:26:12 in 2016 so his overall performance is still on par with his 2006/2007 results, conditions not withstanding.  Very cool!

Thanks for posting OS. IP and Kathy are both friends/paddle partners (well, we start at the same time anyway,  ) so that was really cool to watch. I don't know their other teammate, Blair Thorndike, but he looks like another very fit waterman. I sometimes joke that I only understand about 45% of what IP is saying at any given time but I'm getting better at it. He's a fixture here on Maui with the paddlers.

Conditions were pretty brutal out there (IP says it's 'pretty ordinary') but a few things were apparent: They couldn't see O'ahu because of the weather and that would have been pretty disorienting. Also, jumping into the water in the middle of the channel with no land in sight in those conditions would have been pretty creepy - there's BIG critters in there; it is a bit less threatening when the skies are blue and it's sunny and you can at least see islands off in the distance.

They did great, first in their division and 5th overall in the teams. Awesome video, thanks again for posting.

Cove, it was IPs videos as well as Headmount's that got me on the road to downwinding.. I had been SUPing for about 3 months on a 10-6 inflatable and was looking at vids to find out what was the first board I should buy and came across theirs and down winding, and that was the start of my downwind journey...
