M2O - 2016
« on: July 25, 2016, 07:31:28 AM »
The biggest ocean paddle race in the world, Molokai to Oahu is this Sunday. Does anyone know what kind of coverage we will have to track the athletes? In years past we had GPS tracking and text updates, but I’ve seen a couple of races this year with live video feed. Any other information you can share like weather forecast, boards, athletes, pictures,,, I’ve always enjoyed following this race and this year it’s extra special with one of our local (South Florida) paddlers attempting it solo.

Usually supracer.com has something but I haven’t seen anything yet.

This was a great interview Robert gave last year a day before the race with Travis Grant.

Didn't happen. Bunch of pussies letting a little Tropical storm intercede. Of course I wouldn't do the M2O on a bluebird day with a favorable tailwind, but that's me.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

M20 is this Sunday, July 31. Pono is mixing up Maui to Molokai with Molokai to O'ahu.

The July 16 Maui to Molokai WAS held. Conner won the men's, Devin won the women's. The only race that was cancelled was the July 22 Maui to Molokai that Clare was promoting. The July 23 M4M race was also cancelled. We had Tropical Storm Darby hit most of Hawai'i last Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd. Kind of sucked for everybody.

It's ok PB, we know you have ADD, a geezer foil project, the world's best man-cave, including most of my dream motorcycles, a house for sale, a bad hair day, etc. I'll be your politifact check  ;D

Well if a Tropical Storm hits Molokai this Sunday, we know PonoBill built a time machine. By looking at his garage it’s possible.

Forecast is for light East winds at this point - ~10mph.  At least they are blowing in the right direction and perhaps they will be a bit stronger, but it looks like it is going to be  grind

I'd say no foil..

I'd also say that a 14 could beat a UL board in calm conditions..
