Need Help Fast - New Board Decision
« on: June 28, 2016, 03:45:12 AM »
Hey All,
My first board was a 14' x 27.25 Naish Glide (V2).  Great board, however since I really paddlle 95%+ flat water, I decided to sell it and go for a displacement bow.

This leads me to my dilemma.  I found two new (old stock) boards online.  One is a 2014 Starboard Allstar 14x26.5.  The other is a 2015 Starbord Race 14x27.  The Race is $200 more which isn't a big deal especially if its really a better board for me.  Just for reference, I'm 6', 190lbs.  I had no balance issue on the Glide and used it mainly for fitness and fun.

I found a comparison of the 2015 Allstar to the 2015 Race however it leaves me wondering if there were many design changes to the Allstar between 2014 and 2015 (can't find that answer no matter how much I google.  I also saw that a handful of the Race changes were incorporated in the 2016 Allstar.

The reason I need help fast is because I'd like to have the board ordered by today (in about 6hrs) so that I can get it in time for a trip I planned.  Would really love to have it.

Forgot one more thing.  I can also get a 14x26 or 28 Sprint for the same price.  Just to add confusion to the mix. :)

Ordered the All Star.

A wise choice. That's a quicker board than man realised and the Race was a little lower in volume and a little twitchier apparently. The allstar should be able to handle anything. On flatwater its worth getting far forward to really engage its nose though.
