Shake Free Bamboo POV - Video
« on: June 27, 2016, 05:18:05 PM »
After several different builds I feel like I have the bamboo pole cam figured out, this build is really stable and I don't see any shake in the video, so stoked!

Fun session, ran into Kirk in the lineup on his noserider shape, man he was catching waves like it was his job, I guess it kinda is  :D.  Always fun to watch someone who really knows what they are doing and has a spot wired, stylish to!  A few shots of Kirk surfing in this video (green board).

I had a set wave at the end, felt a mixture of pure stoke adrenaline and mild anxiety that I was going to fast to see all the surfers in my line and through the fog and be able to navigate around them:

@clay

Looks like your bamboo pole cam is working flawlessly. Absolutely no shake.

BTW, nice video. Since I'm a newbie at surfing a sup, I paid close attention on how you shifted your weight and your foot work while surfing the sup.

Thanks for sharing your video.

3:04 = Score!

Very cool work on your mount.... it's a great view!

You have motivated me into modifying a "wetsuff" contraption..... more correctly, getting "GeoffC" to modify it, he's a savant with a welder  :)

The Eagle has landed! Solid clips w/absolutely no shake. That was awesome! That view and those waves! Nice surfing and quite an uplifting jam you chose! And I know what you mean about that mild anxiety when avoiding others in a busy lineup. Kialoa Methane? I love mine. That think is like a good French knife.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Thanks cowboy, appreciate the comment!

Night Wing, right on!  Sounds like the videos are helpful, stoked they are of service!

Creek, heck yeah I was so stoked to pull into that nugget  ;D  I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks cook, great feedback!  Yeah Kialoa Hulu, I love the blended shaft, it feels flexy yet bomb proof to me.

Great video.   Perspective is just right.   I find most gopro stuff un-watchable,  yours makes me want to go out and surf.

Clay:  At the risk of revealing trade secrets, it'd be awesome to see a breakdown on your latest pole/mount configuration.  I've been really thinking about a new generation soloshot but they're friggin expensive.  I guess that's the price for getting beach perspective.  Anyway, my go to spots are shallow beach breaks and I'm wondering how you're unit would fair, or some modified version thereof in 2-5' water depth.

Look forward to more of your work!!!!

Clay

I clicked on your contact link and I found your downwinder videos. Those are some nice videos. I watched them all and my favorite video was the Alameda run.

Thanks for taking the time, effort to make your videos and share them with others whether on this "Zone" site or on your site.
