Used Bark Vapor
« on: April 09, 2017, 04:59:36 PM »
Stoke to say that I got locally a used Bark Vapor.
Could not get one new last year as too $$$ but should be the perfect down-wind board for our local conditions.
First paddle today taking delivery of the board. Flat water and some light side chop crossing back the inlet.
Summer should bring the down-winders....
noticed the same than for my Bark Downwinder before. The paint layer can flake under I guess impact and the underside show various small pressure depression. Other than this the board itself feels pretty solid.
Like the "sidewall" to push the feet against even if it makes the board feels narrower than it is.

Congrats on getting yourself a used Bark Vapor.

I'm always curious. If you don't mind me asking, what is the Vapor's length, width, thickness and liters of volume?
Blue Planet Duke: 10'5" x 32" x 4.5" @ 190 Liters (2 Dukes)
Sup Sports Hammer: 8'11" x 31" x 4" @ 140 Liters
SUP Sports One World: 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 Liters
CJ Nelson Parallax: 9'3" x 23 1/2" x 3 3/16" @ 78.8 Liters (prone surfing longboard; Thunderbolt Technologies build in Red construction)

Congrats Luc. Great pic as well.
Hope to read a comparison between your Vapor ( I assume 26?) to your BF 26"
in progress...

14' x 26" x 7.5"
The 7.5 thickness is really only at the nose. The standing area is more like 4.5 or 5 inches thick.

Thank you will do.
First paddle I would say that the Vapor has slightly less primary stability than the BF with LA fins.
On quartering chop maintaining a specific direction, the ventral is giving some more help.
The Vapor with the narrower tail feels slicker and a better choice for down-winding.
The Vapor feels more like a 25" and the BF feels more like a 27" if this makes any sense.
I do like the small walls on the Vapor in the standing area that allows to push your feet against them. This is also what makes the board feels like a narrower board as you do not have the full 26".

Just weighted my board bare-bone without anything and it sis 26 lbs - good news there.
I assumed that I was getting stronger so that 28 lbs felt lighter but it is lighter :-)
