Here's a perspective. Google "retro surfing" images or something similar and you'll find bikini clad sisters, both posing and surfing, as far back as cameras were brought to beaches. It's kind of an integral part of the culture. So it's a little disingenuous to say it doesn't belong on this site at all. I advocate for tasteful.

yeah

Some of you need to get out and travel the worlds beaches a little more. What goes on real-world on public beaches makes the hot chick thread look pretty conservative.

Keep it.  You don't go paddle boarding in a bikini because you don't want to be looked at.  It's the disrespectful, juvenile and sometimes vulgar comments about the "chicks" that I don't care for.  "Camel toes", "meat curtains", "racks", and so on.  I can appreciate an attractive woman but don't drag me into your locker room banter.

That’s an argument I can understand. Removing it is extreme. Keep it.

If there had been a don't care on this one I'd have clicked that. Voted keep because I find the reason for deleting it kind of silly. I just went back to the start of it to refresh my memory. When the HC thread was 1st posted I had reservations about the title. Thought it would have been better if it was "Women of SUP" or similar and focused on the athletes that are out there. I can kind of dimly remember thinking of suggesting a change but figured it's not my thread so not my place and that wasn't its focus....nor was it intended to be....it was "Hot Chicks" for a reason. It was competing with the SUP vehicle thread...what do guys like more than their car/truck?.....hot chicks....my beer thread has a lot of views too... :)

I find it interesting that one of the women that a number of folks have said they miss here on the zone (Celeste) mentions laughing at the posts because she had forgotten how silly/stupid guys can be over the picture of a beautiful woman. She wasn't offended in the least. I think she might have called us out on some of the more recent posts/comments though. I still don't understand the idea of deleting it. Truthfully I think a post requesting change within the thread to be more considerate of what is posted would have been more readily accepted. I still hope this conversation changes the tone...like I said...I'd like this to be a place my granddaughter will feel comfortable.....see I actually do remember posting that..... ;). Telling everyone it's porno and that you are a moronic sexist if you look at it and that it should be deleted was counterproductive at best.

Now that's something I can agree to. I suspect most of us don't talk that way, and more importantly don't think that way.

If I ride a short board at one beach, I really shouldn't care if you ride a 12 foot SUP on waves at a different beach. If you are offended by pictures of hot SUP chicks, you shouldn't care if I look at them in a post that you don't look at.

Why do women wear bikinis?
It takes a quiver to do that.

I understand why people want it gone.  I'm unclear why people defend it.

My sister became anorexic when she was about 15, she was hospitalized several times and went through an intensive program at Stanford.  They were concerned she was going to starve herself to death.  She struggled with it for about a decade.  She once told me when she was skinny as a rail that she thought she was fat.  This is not normal nor natural behavior and women certainly aren't born thinking this way.  Our culture and threads like HCOSUP send the message to women that there is something wrong with their body.  Why as sons and husbands and fathers and brothers would we want to continue doing this to our families?
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

I really don't care, but I hate political correctness so much, I will vote keep.

I actually came from an era when one person couldn't go around and tell a thousand other people what they could and could not say.

I find myself in agreement with many of the arguments about the HC thread, but disagree with others.
