Glassy & Clean Surf - Bamboo pole cam test #4 - video
« on: May 04, 2016, 10:18:28 AM »
What a beautiful sight to behold the morning glass and clean fun waves.  The lefts here always seem to challenge and have me questioning what magic board will guide me into, through, and back out of the speedy lips.  I suspect that's part of the draw of this surf spot and surfing in general - the unknown and the full emotional run from excitement to fear along with an adrenaline rush, the satisfaction of a completed ride, and the huge involuntary grin that comes after this incredibly unique and amazing experience.   ;D

This is the first glassy session I have had with the bamboo pole and the video seems much smoother.  The bamboo pole has yet to have a direct hit by the lip of a wave, I thought today might be day.  In the end what broke was the epoxy/hemp joints after the board was flipped over, and from the video the tip of the pole might have hit the shallow bottom.  I will work on my hemp joint making technique.   :D

Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

I love the perspective it gives when you are catching the wave as it rises up behind you.  Really cool.

Thanks Paul, surfafrica, coldsup.  I like seeing the waves come up behind as well, I get stoked to want to go surfing again.  This bamboo pole is about 8-10 inches higher off the deck, I though I might cut it down and then ended up leaving it just to see how it looked and worked.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Beautiful glassy peelers, although maybe a bit too fast breaking. Nice hoodie grab right b4 the dunk tank!   :)
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
