Actually this article is two years old (but saw it today in my Facebook feed).  Anyway, SUP is at the bottom at #6 so at least we are not the #1 to avoid.  You could say SUP is moving up by moving down LOL.  Regardless, this is a pretty funny article that needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

It's kind of fun to be hated by morons like that.  Makes you think you are doing something right.  We know the proners hate us, do we really give a flying flip?  I know I don't.

I think you guys are missing the point.  Joe Praino is an upcoming stand-up comic.  He’s born and raised in New York and went to college in Pennsylvania.  I doubt he surfs at all or really gives who shits about it one way or the other.  I’ve seen him a couple times in person and think he’s pretty funny.  Watch the clip I posted or Google some more.  I’m surprised no one here has heard of him before.  As a non-surfer ( I assume) I think he did a pretty good job of capturing all the negative surfer stereotypes in a humorous way and this list pretty much covers all of it, including SUP (which I doubt he really has an opinion of one way or the other).   I really didn’t mean to shit stir with more SUP hate.  All of us who grew up surfing have probably seen all listed here and his point was that no matter who you are, you are probably guilty of being one of them at some point.  Yeah the Inertia sucks but like I said this showed up in my FB feed (and I don't even follow or "like" them) and I happen to like this comedian.

Thanks for posting it; I enjoyed it.  Just didn't laugh.  His other stuff is funny, that bit....not so much.  If he's not a surfer, he probably thinks this bit is original, but we have heard all that stuff so much that it's old.

What about nerds in the lineup? That would be me. Shouldn't people like me be avoided? I would be all like:

 “Hey, nice waves, huh? (Snort!)”

“Hey, is that a paddleboard? I got a paddleboard at Costco. I'm really good!”

“Like these neon yellow shorts?”

“Boy, these waves are big! That one was almost to my waist!”
