What's your sup workout drink?

Hey guys. I was wondering what drinks you guys mix up when going on a longer paddle or for race training. My drink is 1/4 coconut water, 1/4 orange juice, 3 squirts of lime juice and 1/2 water. I think that's pretty healthy. Although after seeing how much sugar is in one serving of orange juice I'm wondering if there is anything healthy that you guys mix that also tastes good.

We just got a Nutri Bullet so I will sometimes make a big smoothie to take with us. Usually a mix (probably 60/40) of fruits (frozen Berries, Apple, Orange, Banana) to greens & veggies (Kale, Carrots) with some Goji berries, Cacao nibs, Walnuts or Almonds, etc. thrown in for good measure.

I strap a small cooler on the webbing of my 14' with this a snack, and a few waters (and my waterproof speaker) and I'm good to go.

Water during, coconut water after, and beer after after.

If I'm seriously worried about hydration I put a TSP of lite salt into my camelbak, and the juice of a couple of lemons, maybe a couple of packets of sugar. But don't forget to clean the bladder thoroughly or you'll have a big surprise next time you suck on that bite valve--might come out all in one piece.

Before - Coffee
During - Water
After - Beer

If I am extra thirsty, I drink more water.  I do like coconut water, but I haven't found the need to work it into my workout.

Before and during my distance paddles I drink Gatorade low calorie G2.  I buy the 1/2 oz packets from Hydration Depot in Ft.lauderdale..they distribute some good drink brands and you can buy in quantity.

 Very tasty and low calorie which is a bonus because I drink quite a bit.

Apparently Stoney.. you're onto something.  Chocolate Milk is "Ugggg!" for me but from what I gather a great recovery aid.

Cytomax.  Only 12 g sugar.   I used to by this at Sport Chalet.  I think it is available at REI.

I carry a Camelbak with me every time I SURF.  On a sunny day I will drain it in a little over an hour.

I bring 2 Orange Cuties and stick them in my wetsuit.  By my 7th wave I have to remember to eat one before I start to sag.  You can feel your body pick up immediately while still eating the orange. 

By the 12th wave I eat the second one.  My average session is about 16 waves.

Interesting, and where exactly do you stick those? Around the chest area? 😂
