I've used a 4 gallon 1.5 HP shop vac a number of times over the years.  As long as you are just trying to make sure you have a good bond to the EPS with no bubbles. and are not trying to suck lots of resin out of the layup, you don't need much vacuum pressure or air  volume moved.  The main concern is to not burn out the vacuum.  I put a hole in the hose so that there was slightly less vacuum, and but more importantly, there was still air moving to help it stay cool.  Heat the room to make the epoxy cure faster too, (once the layup is done and the vac is turned on).

I look for good help with cloth and eps i am in the easy  mode of the vacom and let him suck air he cant take epoxy becuse  on the epoxy i put plastic  its hard i have deep concav all the way  the vacom push the cloth and i hop the plastic give smoth surfac

I closr the vacom its more then six hours now the epoxy on the ground is dry and the sup cool so close the vent two tomorrow i open and try to give pic step by step

2 carbon 1 glass afew as ther was epoxy on standing place and to the bag.

I made 3.3 kg of epoxy but i try thes time to suck back some to the pill cloth

I used  peel ply and on it was cloth that get the epoxy before the nylon  the vacom work for 6  hours  this time the sup come from the bag amazing at night  and the peel ply was not easy to take off I am going to put him in cover at the sun for today
