As the tide filled in later on the swell came over the outer banks and started running way up the estuary.   On this day we were in summer suits, no gloves, hats etc and were baking hot.

This location is gold as far as I'm concerned and this was a small day.

The local farmer who showed us the launch spot at the bottom of his field said it often comes in 3-4 times bigger when a big north atlantic pressure system is around so I'm def. keeping that one on the radar.

That's said, this was the first time I really surfed the Sidewinder and was really pleased.  There is quite a curve in the profile and once back it is so easy to manouver it on the wave face.
OK, it's not an M14, but with a bit of time spent on it there is no reason this is not a serious contender for some cranking downwind conditions.

How are you liking the Sidewinder? Downwind, upwind, quartering swell, flatwater. The whole shebang :D. Oh, and what size did you get?

Great.
I have the Sidewinder in 14x25 at 92 kg / 193 cm and it is remarkably stable. I would claim, more stable than the 14x28 Stiletto, which I had before.
I don't have the best balance, but at the start of 125 paddlers last Saturday I'm didn't fall into the water ;-).
With my Sprint 14x23 I would certainly swim several times and would be not faster on average. Boat waves are thus more fun than danger.
It feels fast and easy, accelerates quickly and is agile.
For an average paddler it is certainly a great choice.

Thanks for the information.

How solid is the construction compared to the Stiletto?

The Stiletto is like an oak. Solid and rigid.
The Sidewinder like a feather and has significantly more flex. If I easily hop on it, it bounces a little what the stiletto has not done (maybe minimal, hardly noticeable).
During normal paddle I notice nothing. But there are a difference of 4-5 kg between the boards.

Still forgot something. The Sidewinder reminds me in character to the Bullet V1: good-natured, but lighter and faster.

I absolutely love the Sidewinder. I posted a review of the Sidewinder in the Gear talk / SUP gear review section. Enjoy.
