I don't get why anyone would buy one of these. The kayak version makes more sense. It's just as fast, goes upwind better, handles rough seas better. It's just better in every way. Why would you want to stand up?

One local guy has both the kayak and SUP ones - and seems to like putting around in them.  Looks hilarious and is not for me - but he seems to like it.   :o ::)

A beautiful fall evening in NE. Paddling on Sheep's Pond (NW wind avoidance) trying to practice two things at once. I suspect Strephosymbolia, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia are related - especially if you are a lefty!

Fisherman casting, we are all not looking forward to the time change to say the least. Whazzat in the middle of the pond?

I see poles sticking up, and a familiar logo on the side. Hobe pedal kayak on the loose. He was having a grand time as twilight settled in.

Paddled right over and had a great conversation about fishing from SUPS, kayaks, and pedal kayaks. He had done all of the above and felt that the pedal kayak was the greatest thing in the world for fishing off of.

He agreed that my Starboard 12'6" Race was faster, better exercise, but lousy for fishing!

A pedal sup is not for me. I think they are a fad and this fancy will fade in my opinion.

Because I like to??  The point of all these things, from OC1 to SUP to Kayak to Hobie pedal SUP is to have fun. What is the point of even asking that question? How could you assume that one way of getting on the water is better than another? Have you learned nothing? What a bunch of old farts you guys are. Do it my way or not at all. Time to grow a ponytail and bitch about the good old days.

The first ever Mirage drive race for SUPs. These things do look like they move fast.

Anybody know what the music is on this?  Maybe Hobie searched for songs about "bipedal" for the video, and couldn't find any, so went down the alphabet to "bipolar" figuring that was close enough.

You might as well ask why SUP then as its pretty inefficient when compared to kayaking. It doesn't have to make sense sometimes !

You didn't seem to feel that way about the River Skis.  ::)

That's not inconsistent, because the River Ski video had bad music.
