I am not sure if this vid was posted last year but here is a drone video of the 2015 CCBC finish......that is after the weather calmed down and we dropped the paddlers back into the water.

See you on the water.

Cool video Mike thanks for sharing.   Cool perspective.  I remember that drone circling over head

I didn't even know that drone was there until my wife pointed it out. Shows how fixated I was at getting to the beach.

I really like how that video catches me getting to shore and my wife giving me a hug. Yeah, I was crying. I think we were all a mess after that!

Any of you Zoners planning on paddling in this year's Cape Cod Bay Challenge?  If you are on the edge about doing it or not, Do IT.  It's a great event for an amazing charity, Christopher's Haven, who offer free housing to families  whose children are undergoing cancer treatments in Boston.  It's also a great physical and mental challenge , but one of the most worthwhile things you will ever do.  As much as I look forward to the crossing, I really love the training that goes along with it, and of course the after party in Wellfleet is incredible, and after 34 miles, the best tasting beer you will ever have.

This will be my 6 th CCBC and I have made so many incredible friends as a result of this event.  I was hesitant at first and not sure I could accomplish such a marathon paddle.  No one runs 26.2 miles  to prepare for a Marathon and I never paddled 34-36 miles before my fist CCBC.  14 mile training runs are my longest, but I do them at a pace much harder than the 3.5 pace of the CCBC.   Most importantly it is not a race but a community paddle and fellow paddlers encourage one another across the bay.
Feel free to PM any questions about the event as I'd be happy to share my xperinces...the more paddlers/ fundraisers, the better it is for Christopher's Haven.

I'm not doing the CCBC this year, but I have to say that it was one of the best experiences of the last twenty years. It was exhilarating to be out on the water with all the other paddlers. If anyone's thinking of doing it, do yourself a favor and step up! You will not regret it.
