. . . because here is what we have had to resort to.   Grin

It was actually a really fun morning.
Out side temp was -20 C with the wind chill and dumping snow.
Certainly teaches you how to turn your board.
(yes we are using leashes - that was more so the boards didn't hit the edge if you fell)

We need a new section for the exploding sport of Stand up pool surfing (SUPS).
Aloha,

Did you ever hear from the lady with the acoustic neuroma...she mentioned that her husband actually knows you.

Rodeo?
You should play with a ball, it's more fun in a swimming pool.

I'd give almost anything to feel a board under my feet right about now and even a pool would be great.

Long winter in Canada -- temp was minus 30 C yesterday -- no water to be found. Sad

This is awesome.   I had a out of ground pool and tested board buoyancy in it.     This is a dream for board testing!    Great shot.    I like the "swimming only" sign too...   I'd be ALL OVER doing that if I lived where you do!!!

SUP Polo anyone?   Many possibilities.  New Sport maybe? Count me in, I'll play.

I did the same thing -- can't get up much speed before you have to turn though  Wink

If you look hard in the top shot - you will see basket ball nets on the sides in the shallow end - we did have a little one on one for a few minutes before the life guard put a stop to it.

Might have been me taking my brother off his board with the nose of mine.  Roll Eyes
It's okay he's got strong ankles!

LOL those pool shots are pretty funny.  Hey at least you are on the water.  We have been flying for the past 4 days, in and out of all the ski resorts (Aspen, Telluride, Jackson) and ended up in Santa Monica last night.  Got to watch a guy and his son SUP right by the pier.  Waves were small but at least they were on the water (we just sat and watched).

With these wicked Kona winds I've been looking hard at my swimming pool. It's a narrow lap pool with a bridge over it, so I could work on flexibility. I used to paddle a surfboard tethered with a bungee in it to condition my shoulders. Maybe I could do something similar to get used to the Penetrator

They closed Kanaha and most of the North Shore because of the strong offshore winds. The windsurfers go out and break something, and then can't get in. Been there, done that. I went over to the south side to try to get in the water and found what looked like an old victory at sea movie. Shot some pics but I haven't downloaded them yet.
