Sunova SURF 10'6 - vids and info
« on: March 24, 2016, 04:47:03 AM »
The 10'6 SURF is a nice longboard surf SUP.

10'6 x 30"
177 liters

I have the weight at 23 lbs on my digital scale

This is the only video I have managed to get on the 10'6.... and I almost missed this session too :)

It shows how nicely it moves around on the wave. Too bad the sets were all outside the cam view.... it was great on the bigger waves that day.

I will add vids as I get them.

We have a 10'6 SURF with us on the Sunova Demo Tour.... check out the locations and dates Here:

Guys

This board is real performance board (as opposed to a 1st board type we all see) Our EcoTech 10'6 Surf comes in at a very respectable 25.3# but the real benefit is in the design (rail configuration, rocker and other dims)

Check these out "it isn't your fathers longboard"

Here is an odd little vid.... the sets were all wide of my camera set-up, but I caught a few small wave "parts"  ;D
Can't wait for SoloShot3 :o

I have a brand new 10'6 ECO in the van with me, as I travel from New England to Myrtle until after the Carolina Cup, if anyone is interested  :)

yeah, they moved the ship date on the soloshot3 to some time in the summer, which is a bummer, cause it would be funner sooner.

Nice board, waves, and surfing, Creek. That board in those dims might be  tad on the BIG side for me.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Happy days. After a years long search for new blood to replace my endeared retired big red, the new blue.

Company, Sunova, a pleasure to do business with. Delivered on time, intact on the other side of the world for one inclusive price.

The shaper, Bert, is an Australian icon, nough said. Though we never had a face to face, through an extensive email exchange, with much patience on his part, we arrived at the board I needed.

The board. 10-6x31. Thinned and foiled to 150l. 4+1 futures.
First test clean and steep 3'.

The board is a breeze. Instant fun with no learning curve. Easy wave entry. Handled the steep bowl from off the tail. Confident bottom turns. The session changed as the wind picked up strong side shore and blew it out. I downwinded up the beach at the end through a bumpy mess and the stability was there.

Very light and easy to carry with the new handle. Only little surprise was the handle jamming shut after a spin through the inside wash cycle. The sand here is big grain. Just flipped the board and jiggled it free.

This is a performance shape and I look forward to the days to come.

Hi J... stoked you have your new board... it looks awesome!
Interesting look at the waves.

I have a 10'6 to borrow, if you come over this summer.

You need to get a SoloShot... if they ever come out... I'd love to see those breaks from the beach cam view.
or buy a cheap handicam and just set it up like I do. Sometimes it works ;)

The board looks great, I don't think Sunova makes a board that I don't want.

Is this board the Sunova Style? I can't find the Surf on their website.

Its a little tricky to find on the site. Here is the link:http://www.sunovasurfboards.com/product/ecotec-sup/
If the link doesn't work, here is how to find it on the site. On the left side, highlight "Boards", but do not click on it. Go across to the far right in the drop down menu to the SUP list. At the bottom of the list click on EcoTec, which is their less expensive construction. This will take you to the page about the Surf model, which I believe is available in EcoTec or the lighter XXX-Tec construction that you see in the other models.
