Warmest Aloha, Brock.

We've lost a true waterman. Guy did more living on an average weekend than some people do in a lifetime.

He seemed like the coolest guy. Too young, makes you think about how lucky we really are.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

He was a great ambassador to the sport. I never met him but he's one of those guys that I could tell I'd just like from all the video snippets I'd seen of him over the years. Always seemed to have a great sense of humor, took things lightly but charged hard. Sad.

How can you not love Brock.  He lived his life under his own terms.  Spent a wonderful life surfing and going on adventures.  Its not how you die, its how you live.. Dont feel sorry for him.  He lived life to the fullest, more than most.

Live your life like Brock and when its your time, you can die with peace in your heart.  Its sad to see the good go, especially the ones that love life and are loved, but what a life he lived!

Love to his family and friends.

"Don't feel sorry for him?" He got cancer and died an untimely death at a young(ish) age. It was probably a distressing and awful way to go. If that doesn't entitle someone to feel sorry for him then I don't know what does.

I hear you Area 10. Its sad when people get sick and die. I didn't know Brock, but when I saw the video of Brock, I had tears in my eyes.  After a few minutes, I said to myself " good for you Brock, you lived a full life and went out a warrior".

Sure death is not pretty.  His life was cut short by a awful desease that took his health and I am sure it was painful.  Everyone has a bad end coming, people are dying everyday, all the time...  Feel sorry for the guys  that live their lives unhappy or unfulfilled.  The guys that drive 2 hrs in traffic each day, or work in a cubicle, or the ones that work for the $$$ only, or others that dont know the joy of the outdoors, or others that dont have joy or love in their lives, it goes on and on.  Then when they die, feel sorry for them, for they never lived quite the life of a guy like Brock...You down have to watch tv to see the walking dead, just open your eyes, they are all around you.

Brock lived more in his short life than most will live in a thousand lives... Its not the end of the journey that counts, its the journey itself..

All I am saying is I would rather celebrate his life well lived, rather than saying RIP, we will miss you? or some other messed up crappy slogan thats easy to remember and empty of substance.
