The Lamma Power Station Run - Downwind Vid
« on: February 06, 2016, 01:54:45 AM »
This is one of the new runs we have found recently on the west side of Lamma Island, Hong Kong, next to the Lamma Power Station. It is one of the most groomed runs here and works in any easterly wind (e.g. NEE or SEE) above 25knots / 46kph / 29mph. It gets good around 500meters / yards off-shore, and then gets messed up and technical about 2 miles (approx 3.2kms) off-shore. It's a great place to practice going from parallel to surf stance and back.. or how to get used to a narrower board...

What I learnt here is that it is possible to connect bumps purely by moving from the back of the board up to the front using your weight only, literally without paddling. I only did it a couple of times, as the timing has to be perfect not to stall the board.

This shows what happens when you switch from a SIC F14 (30" wide) to a SIC Bullet 14v1 TWC (27.25" wide)..
Shot 2.5 hours before it gets dark here.
