She looses an arm, she's now a mother, so what does she do?
Gets towed in at Jaws, of course, did you expect anything less?  You can even see her smiling.
From this last week, "borrowed" from Cammar, via Jimmy Hepp.
It takes a quiver to do that.

I've seen her a few times at the coffee place in Hanalei. She's in seriously amazing shape. She has "paddling shoulders" for sure. This is really cool to see.

Her legs look like they're in pretty darn good shape too!

One day when I grow up I hope to have half the heart, courage, and determination that Bethany has.

There is no quit in that beautiful girl.

She truly is amazing. Was with my family kauai  the year after she lost her arm.  She was just getting back in the water. We surfing a break the kids called pine trees  super clear water  but a bout 150 yards from a river mouth. I kept looking at her  and thinking of the photo of the Tiger Shark hanging by its tail that was displayed  in the video rental store in town.  The shark  was almost nose on the ground and there were 2 women in front of it. They only came to it's dorsal fin and the shark was wider than the both of them ( admittedly  they were  slender women) this was touted as the shark that attacked her up around tunnels.   So anyway the life gard calls out a shark sighting ( a hammer head)  but that was it for me just too eery, Bethany with her arm gone, the photo, The  callout of a shark sighting I was out of there. Her friends stayed with her they surrounded her in the water.   but a while later she did get out.  None the less truly an amazing individual with such personal strength!

I meant I "call" an amazing recovery a "Bethany". I even wrote that into a surfing novel I'm trying to publish.
