Carlin really was extraordinarilly brilliant in his craft. So great at deflating the human ego.

But, even if the "orb" can handle our pollution and can/will self regulate and it's all merely a blip on eternity - should we walk amongst trash or surf in spoiled waters? Should we have to wear masks in order to breathe the air?

I hear his argument. Earth and the Great Order are more powerful than little self willed human. I think Earth Day and the idea behind treating the planet well is really a quality of life and a relationship issue. It may not need us but we certainly need it. Hmm, that does sound rather selfish and self centered. Yikes.

He is clever and makes us think. We don't have to agree. But he is entertaining and perhaps reaches people in a way that others cannot.
