I love the vid of the waist leash in action.
How long are you out there to need a hydration pack?
I'm fascinated that you have all those accessories and in operation. I have a Go Pro that I have  used maybe three times because I found it to be too distracting.

Here is another perspective on the size that day.  Note the flying spider monkey in the background.  That's my proner friend Matt.  He is such a ham for the camera.
That may be the best Zoner photo ever.

I learned to use the Camelbak from this guy, Ian Wallace.  What I realized was that when I would SUS for more than an hour I would become completely dehydrated and start craving water.  I once measured my weight before and after and lost 8 lbs.  This can happen when you are standing in the sun, wearing a black plastic bag, working out for 2 hours or more and not falling in.

Ian's taken the accoutrements to the next level.  He is wearing a Camelbak, inflatable vest, Thigh Pads, and a Waist Leash attached to 2 (two) Leashes.

Since I was carrying a Camelbak I started packing a GoPro in the Camelbak charged and ready at all times.  Using the Pono quick mount I can pull it out and Voila pictures of great sessions, sunsets, dolphins whatever the day may present.

The first 2 photos were testing 4K Video to see how the stills would come out.  Using Hero 4 Silver so only 15 fps but still stills are stunning.

This series was taken when I only had 1 hour to surf, door-to-door.  I was debating pulling out the camera but did for the last 10 minutes of surfing, aka when the sun was rising, and caught these images.  It was a great 12 waves in 40 minutes.

These 4 photos were shot @ 2.7K, 30 fps using Hero 3+.  Not quite as good light but still pretty nice to have a GoPro on hand when no one else is there to witness the magic.  Oh yeah I was wearing a waist leash.

Yes.  Beasho almost got bashed into the Rocks near Santa Cruz . . . . once.

I was trying to eject the board but couldn't find the little tab to release the belt.  Never happened again but I have the chicken loop on all 4 of my waist leashes.  There was simply no way to otherwise grab that little black tab in a panic.

PS:  Orange Polka Dot board is a Jeff Clark, 1st generation, 10' x 28" complete with windsurfing mast track, Red PSH is a 9' 2" x 28" Hull Ripper.  With small'ish fins the Hull Ripper turns so well I almost see no need to go any smaller.

the tab on the leash lok is more grabbable than crow's, so might not be so important.

i still get a giggle over "chicken loop", for some reason.

clearly an important feature, and worthy of inclusion in your "accoutrements".

those boards are skinny by my standards, and likely not too voluminous. seem right for your beast-infested back yard.

i hope to do some beasting, tho not as big as you do, here, march 10:

I am doing heavy yoga with much breath of fire, in prep. beasts can get angry at a guy--you likely know this well.

nice pics/posts as always, beasho
