SUP Christmas Presents
« on: November 28, 2015, 07:10:14 PM »
What are some great SUP-related gifts that aren't new boards or new paddles? I was thinking of asking Santa for a waist leash, but I'm kind of stuck after that.

Coolest thing about SUP is you don't need much.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Accessories are the way.....

Always need board shorts or sunshirts...
Garmin Wristwatch GPS speed/timer...
EZ Plugs and bungee tiedown cord...
Camelback...
Cool stickers...
Paddle bag...
Board bag...
New tiedown cam straps for car/truck rack...
Beach chair w/ swivel beer holder...
Maui Jims....

If river running then, heck, you need lots of gear:
helmet, knee pads, neoprene pants, neo shirt, booties, Teva river shoes, backup pump-n-hose, PFD, breakaway leash, gear bags, neo gloves, base layers, thermal layers, drysuit......should I go on?  Dude, the imagination is the limit.....

Well, stuff I would ask Santa for anyway.......

A solar heated porta-shower. It just feels so good after a long paddle.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

This are some great suggestions! I forgot about asking for a new Camelpack. Mine dates back from the dark ages!

But, of course, as usual, Bill is right.

A pair of NSI garb tie down straps makes a nice gift and saves lots of time getting onto and off of the water.

Or maybe a Railsaver Pro?

I'll take the one on the right with the accessories.

this looks interesting

I have one and it is awesome, i attached the nozzle to my kitchen sink so I use hot water in the winter/cool water months.

Boom, nothing beats a hot shower and rinse right at your car after a great session.

I'll take the additional volume and the 10.99 price tag of the Coleman camp shower over the rinsekit.

I have one thing on my list....a drysuit.

Think of something that you already have, that has a much nicer version available (that you would never buy yourself) and ask for that. By this point in our lives we have everything we really need, so a sweet upgrade is something that I usually ask for.

Like, I have a decent hood, but I really want the Xcel whatever model. Then send the specific link on Amazon or whatever so all they have to do is click buy.

I have always said, "The best gift you can give someone, is a good list for yourself". My mother (god bless her) has to buy me a gift for xmas. I don't care to get gifts, I don't want to get gifts, but my momma is adamant. So each year I spend time putting together a nice list for her of things I know I will use.

Make paddleboarding great again!
