Well, we always knew you were hyper and you were a nut, so it's no surprise that you shred on a Hypernut.  :)

No way no how I ride a 105 ltr standup board! But you are doing it to it! NICE!
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I found that the Hyper Nut changes the math when picking a boards liter size for surfing. You're better off using the size of the board you are using now and then try the Hyper Nut at a foot shorter. (or the length that is closest to a foot shorter)

ummm, i don't think so. it really depends on what you're comparing it to. i think if i was on a 9'*30" board, I could easily use the 8'0" HN. But coming from an 8'4", the 7'8" HN is as low as i'd go. you cannot just look at one characteristic of any board (e.g., length, width, volume, rocker, etc). it's a package deal.

I find myself going more with Volume as the key.

At my weight 175 # I can paddle a 90 Liter board.
but much prefer
105-115 L for general application.

Length and width matters and I have no problem with a 6'6" X 29", 105L  Board
More work on a 7'2" X 26 -3/4", 90L Board

The combined factors of Shape and Volume determine how well it will paddle, catch waves and surf..

I will go 125-155L for a Gun..
Depending on shape..

beached, going from an 8-4 traditional shape to a 7-8 Hyper Nut sounds about right. A slightly lighter rider could take it to a 7-4 as the volume difference is only 9L.

I just think for those looking at this board don't judge it by the volume as they a quite a bit more stable then a traditional shape. Plus the length to width numbers seem to be at a better ratio. More of a stick shape then a dinner plate. Seems the design approach was more of taking a SUP board and making it a surf board vs taking a surfboard and making it a SUP if that makes sense.

Just my observation.

Just came from THe beach where i tested my 7'8 hypernut wood finish.
First of all. You can put it inside of my Hyundai i10 !!!!!! Iiiuuujjjuuuuuuu
I'm 90 with wetsuit. Dreamy conditions. Glassy. Sligthy over head. 6-7 feet (looking THe front of THe peak) Green and beatiful water.

Súper stable. Even when the breeZe came with some strong current from THe River mouth, there was no issue with THe stability.

No glide. You hace to change your technique to catch waves. Once you get this dialaled  is ALL fun Very fast.

Goes UP and down with ease. When THe raíl catches and you have your foot in THe stomp pad, you can actually acelerate

On THe bigger waves at first some sence of "out of control" but when you stay near THe raíl it holds.

You have to stay moré with THe prone surfers in THe line UP and you dont Get as much waves as with THe hokua 9'5 but it has a place in your quiver.

Over ALL. If you aré looking to start with "short súp" this is a very friendly and fun board to start with. On THe wave it has so much potential.

Thanks for that review nachoSUP, Im 90 KGs and have been looking at the 8'0 Hyper Nut, mainly for the width of 31.5 than the length as Im happy to go under 8foot. What you said about no glide has convinced me that a long board will suit me. I currently ride a 9foot SB prosurf and a converse plus for noseriding and mal style SUP riding.
Cheers
