I just came across this fin.  It looks like taking a swept back design to the extreme.  I haven't found dimensions on it.  Has anyone seen or used this one?

Larry's click fins are really secure--nothing to worry about.  They won't go any place.  Whether you need it depends on your usage.  I'm pretty much a "set it and forget it" guy so I don't monkey with fins much.  The main reason I take fins off and on is if they won't allow me to bag my board after use for transport.  With my screw in fins it takes less than a minute, but if I can get them bagged without taking it off, that's how they stay.

On the board I have set up to run with clicks, I do pop these in and out each time.

I have one almost exactly like that. Too much flex. It felt like I didn't have a fin with that fin. It's at the bottom of my fin box.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

I designed my FreeWeed Series fins over 15 years ago...they work very well for touring and downwinders...
They track well and turn well...the 9.25" FreeWeed has 48 in2 of surface area distributed over 13" of horizontal distance between LE and TE...also, available in several smaller sizes...

I also have a 10" version that we are sold out of...

Click on video below for 3D modeling and testing of the WD 9.25" FreeWeed...

Nice fins WarDog. This is a fin I bought from Guillermo Longo years ago when he glassed one of my unlimiteds. It's scratched from being on the bottom of my fin pile:) Just hasn't ever worked that good on any of my race boards. Maybe better for windsurfing? I know Guillermo's an old windsurf shaper / glasser.

Thanks...
That's basically a Greenough influenced knockoff of George's Stage-6 paddle fin...he developed it for his very unique WS gear...;-)
It worked OK on really stiff old school longboard SUPs to loosen them up a bit...
I can see why it's on the bottom of your pile...bass-ackwards design for your application...;-)

George is amazing. That board is almost the forerunner to kite boarding. 'The Spoon'.... Very cool. I've never seen a harness that just hooks directly to the boom either.

GG was way ahead of his time...he also developed the first carbon "skinny" mast and also carbon "skinny" booms...reduced diameter...increased stiffness and strength...stoked that I got to surf and windsurf with him as much as I did...always learned something new...;-)

I am building some of my 10" FreeWeed fins with double sided bamboo...it has a base of 8 7/8"...and, 63 sq. in. of surface area...shown on my 13'er below...

We paddled my 11'1" & 11'11" One World SUPs, using my 9.25" FreeWeed fins, along the coast in ultra-clear water yesterday...

I did get a Rackham board, love it.  These are the various fins I have at this point...

My favorite, the large triangle cutaway.  It performs well for me, and honestly I don't think I lose too much on speed for as big as it is.  Then again, I'm not going to get too fast with my board regardless of fin.

Almost as good as the triangle, just a hair looser, but not too noticeable. This fin I keep in my truck just in case I forget to bring a fin with me, since I know it will work well. And it was a steal for $48.

Stock fin that I don't much care for.  Somewhat similar, but a little looser still.  I don't get why they have the raised logo on it.  It's gotta add drag right?

This is an interesting one.  I only got it because it was like $20 on eBay and it's deep at 10.5".  It was more stable than I anticipated, and it tracked not quite as well (like I did expect).  I haven't used it much (probably should try it more), but it seemed fast initially for being that deep and having a steep leading edge angle.  I did have to grind the base to fit the fin box, but it now fits great and snug.

I really like this shallow fin.  Only 6.25 deep so I can get in really shallow spots.  And it tracks very well for being so shallow.  It lags behind on stability in wake/chop, but this is a very useful fin for the right conditions/locations.  Well worth the $80.
