Hi SaxMax,

We've got a range of quality 3 piece paddles here: http://greenwatersports.com/shop/product-category/stand-up-paddle/paddles-sup/3-piece-paddles

What's your height, weight and usual board/conditions?

The Red Paddle Co Bamboo/Glass is a nice paddle, but it is a fairly flexy shaft. You might then consider the Red full carbon http://greenwatersports.com/shop/red-paddle-co-carbon-adjustable-71-86-inch-3-piece-paddle or the Red full fibreglass if $ is an issue. The Accents are quite nice too. They almost all have the same carbon shaft and then you just choose the blade to match. Any specific questions about the paddles, let me know.

Sorry, forgot to mention that.

I am 5″10 tall and my weight is 145 lbs. I just bought a used ULI race board and look forward to ride it on a freshwater lake in Europe (no waves, completely flat).

Cheers

Kenalu makes an adjustable paddle that compresses down very short for travel.

It's not a light weight race paddle for sure but I paired it with a Honu blade and regular handle and when disassembled it fits in my luggage.  The blade and handle come apart with a hair dryer and go together with hot glue.

Hi SaxMax,

If you want stiff, I'd probably say the full carbon by Red. The Globetrotter GT is also very nice. http://greenwatersports.com/shop/sawyer-globetrotter-gt-adjustable-67-83-3-piece-paddle A cool system to join the main shaft (TiteSet) and then also the LeverLock adjustment system which gives the shaft no noticeable bumps, clips or joins. The blade is a glass mix type construction and very light and durable but not carbon. On the pricier side though.

Ke Nalu make an awesome paddle, but you'll need a hair dryer and the main longest section will be a little longer than a regular 3 piece on break down.

I use the below Starboard Tiki 3 peice paddle. It's relatively light and pretty stiff, great for traveling.

We are coming out with a new high performance paddle in early 2016 that also happens to break down into three pieces for easy travel.  It is the first paddle that is made of all molded parts and combines proven features from some of the world's best paddles with unique new innovative features.

We are launching this Kai Zen paddle on Kickstarter soon and we will have a "beta tester" special that I hope some of you Zoners will take advantage of.   I will post the Kickstarter campaign on the Zone soon, before it officially launches, so please look for that post if you are interested.

Here are a couple of videos showing our early prototypes and discussing some of the design features with Evan Leong from standuppaddlesurf.net.

If you want a fixed length 3-piece that is pretty much as good as an ordinary paddle and fits into a suitcase, and money is no object, then the 3-piece Quickblade V- Drive is probably top of the tree IMO. The case it comes in is great as well.
