Rhode Island Surfer needs your prayers and healing thoughts.
« on: October 09, 2015, 07:52:48 PM »
Just got a text from Hawaii and a young surfer named Colin Cook was attacked by a shark on the North Shore of Oahu.  He lost is leg is now in critical condition in one of the trauma hospital  in Honolulu.  Apparently he moved from RI to live at the break.  So please lets put out some healing prayers.

Ugh, I'll send positive vibes his way.  He made it through the hardest part, that first hour.  He's young and will fight .  The docs know trauma, he's in good hands.

We all think about it. Unfortunately it does occasionally happen. Hopefully he pulls through and finds a positive to build on in his life. Hang tough dude.

The news here on Oahu said Colin went through 2 surgeries and lost his leg above the knee and is in good spirits. Praise God for the quick thinking of the surfers around him. They brought him to shore and used a leash to stop the bleeding and a surfboard to carry him up to the highway where an ambulance picked him up. Our prayers are with you Colin for a speedy recovery!!!!!

Saw that on Surfline! That's gotta be the gnarliest experience EVER for a surfer. Gotta feel for the dude!  :(
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
