hbsteve & Elaine's tough day
« on: October 07, 2015, 03:52:13 AM »
We just had to put our almost 19 year old shih tzu to sleep.  His name was Java.   Elaine has clients in from London.  I'm glad for her.  It will give her something else to focus on.
I'll get on the water.

Sorry to hear. I have a collage of all the dogs I've had on the wall in my office. I still love and miss them all. RIP Java.

Very sad news Steve.  I think sometimes dogs bring out the best in us, and when it does, it's for keeps.

Geeze, so sorry to hear.  Since you and PB have posted this, I'm making an extra effort to enjoy my dogs, because the inevitable is always on the horizon.

We got home from our road trip yesterday and Diane spent the day in a funk. She kept foot-dragging all the way home to avoid walking into an empty house. Seems a little better today. Distractions help. If it gets overwhelming try a little road trip. Great to have a great dog, terrible to lose them. It helps me to know we gave the little guy a great life, and he loved it.

"It helps me to know we gave the little guy a great life, and he loved it."  ...I'd like to think I could say that for the last three.  They all come to work (executive privilege) with me. The bad news is that I can't realistically rent a house in Panama for a couple of months.. (my wife and four friends are there now..)  The new guy, a Golden Doodle rescue is perhaps the nicest sentient being I know.  Good ones remind you to be like them rather than reactive.  Sorry to hear when a good dog dies.
