Fake Tesla commercial..
« on: October 06, 2015, 12:14:30 PM »
When your fans go to this trouble, I think you've found the vein.

..given that Detroit, particularly GM, has anesthetized the market with mediocre crapus for at least three decades.  It is wonderful to see someone new come and build us something aspirational again.  Over my span I have pretty much done everything with the exception of high Italian.  If the new Tesla-X didn't push us out so far, I'd bet I could talk my wife into one.

Diane loves hers. I'd like them to build a pickup.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

I think the biggest problem Tesla will have comes when they build the model 3 and price it under $40,000.  I am sure the demand will be well beyond the production capability.
We finally got to drive the Model S P85D, and it is everything they say.  Off the line launch was not to far off my drag car, which runs mid 9's in the quarter, with a 1.35 60' times. It was a rush driving that car, and not have to worry about wasting gas, with a heavy right foot.
8'5" Starboard Pocket Rocket, 8'0" Kazuma Fugu custom,  8'10" Kings Sidewinder, 10' Starboard Noserider, 14' BARK Carbon Dominator, SIC F16 V3, KeNalu and Quickblade paddles, 19' Eaton Prone, 67" Goode 9700

Also interesting to realize that no skill is required. Getting a high performance car off the line, even with launch control, requires ability and experience. Getting a Tesla to perform at it's maximum--repeatably--requires only the nerve to keep your foot pressed down while your wife is screaming and banging on your shoulder.

When we were in San Diego recently I was surprised by how common Teslas are. They're rare here, like belly buttons there.
