You can use Google maps to create maps and save them. I have a bunch. Gives mileage for the routes, you can create locations add links, attach photos. Once you create the route you can edit it by clicking on it and dragging handles. This is a fairly comlicated one I created for the Challenge on the Charles awhile ago. You can also set them up to be collabaritive. I have a world downwind location map that I can add anyone to for editing rights.
This is the Charles.

This is the DW map. Very funny coincidence. I actually mapped the route we took today long ago....:)

Here's a pic from yesterday - near the take out point of our planned route. Glad I didn't go!

Going out with the storm systems you guys on the east coast have been having sounds iffy to me.  Our deal on Maui is high pressure wind gradients and there is a big difference.  The build times for lows can be quite fast ... and dangerous.   We usually avoid low pressure wind runs.  Too fickle.   Combined with cold water you've got a lot to be concerned about.  That first map of Stoneaxe looked like a ton of open water to me.  The other map (Toronto?) was much more sane looking yet the last pic looked insane.

Please be careful.  It can get pretty damn intense..

That 1st is a lot of open water. 22 miles across and actual runs would likely have more N to them so even longer. That would need serious support and gear to make it safer. Nor'easters are different animals they send pretty consistent winds, in this case 30-35 mph NE to NNE winds for days. The spot where that run ends is what I think of as my local. Rarely gets waves in there except in NE or NNE. Then all hell breaks loose. There is a restaurant right behind the breakwall that has opened and closed so many times its silly...opens....gets hit with a storm (once throwing a 500lb plus boulder into the dining room) and it closes.

Go for it next time!

I scoped that and got all reved up to do exactly that line (car pickup and all) on Windsurfer class windsurfers very early 80's. Cold and all (it was likely April). I think we had wooly hats on. Wind wasn't what it was supposed to be and we ended up bailing and just sailing down the coast.

I'd be so up for that with just food, water and a mobile phone in pocket. 20 Mi is perfect. But I'm crazy that way. Only downside is car pickups is a loooong haul.

If you get a few guys into downwinds the pack grows quickly. 3 of us got DW boards a few years back and now we have a crew of about 30 on hand with downwind boards. And that's inland! Of course we're all skiers looking for an adrenaline fix in summer and we do get some festive conditions.

That whole Cape Cod bay gives you endless DW lines. A DW gang will grow in no time with all the watermen and sailors you have around there.

Yugi. You are right. Our pack here started the same way.. Around 3 of us, and now around 15, mostly skiers, but some who came from windsurfing, surfskiing, and dragon boat racing!
