That was criminal Dwight...  The entire storm up here was crunchy tacos/Victory at Sea chit.  Even yesterday, with the storm half way between NFLD and France ..'was still dumping here?!  I've only spent a couple of weeks in FL, but I miss it like I was born there. (maybe not for 8mos a year...)

Thanks to all for sharing the reports, pics and video.  Although I haven't lived in New England for a long time, it instantly brought back memories of the anticipation, planning and reward of chasing hurricane swells.  I'm bloody well spoiled with consistency here in Santa Cruz, but I still think those brief but glorious fall storm swells brought some of the sweetest and most rewarding surf days.

This was Nantasket when I 1st got there. I wanted to get in the water so just took a quick pic. It was far better than this shows. Second pic is from the cam a few hours after I left...looks like the size held about the same. Wish I could have stayed but my arms were dead and I needed to get some work done.

Love Nantasket- I used to surf Scituate, Marshfield and Nantasket 15 yrs ago...such great hidden spots all over that stretch on the right swell.  I became an amateur weatherman trying to figure out when some of those points would break. (pre-surfline/swellinfo etc etc)

Just noticed a pic that Paul's wife Lynn took at Nantasket yesterday on FB. It was very hard to go home and work.

Nice to finally get back on Zone. Dislocated finger at the top of the swell longboarding (9/28)...I think it put me in a state of semi-depress! Finally got in 10-6,7,8 with it buddy taped and gloved up. 10/6 in Long Beach and next two here local. Skipped the SOLOSHOT the first two days cuz was a little apprehensive surfing around this injury. Shot the last day and scored a few decent clips. Link here to my facebook album of Long Beach- I shot handheld pics for an hour while gathering courage to paddle out w/this injury. Helped to assess the conditions too.

Early Fall Fun in the Surf- https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153694910032682&type=1&l=5878867d57

Creek- enjoyed your detailed account of RI. Sounded crowded. Nice pics! I woulda been up there if only! I wanna see that pic of your wotd!
Stoneaxe- Lookin' strong! And that Nantucket looked STRONG!
eastbound- You're a trooper! Wish I had been uninjured and maybe woulda been in the mix!
wetstuff- In FL?! They got some BEAUTIFUL surf down there...poor Bahamas!
Weed- Charging!
outcast- CHARGIN!
NorthJers/Srf- You sound pretty dialed in!

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
